Watercolor studies of fruit, flowers, hydrangeas, birds, and butterflies

Behind the Art

Hi, I'm Kristina! I'm a watercolor artist and surface pattern designer based in Southern California.

I studied architecture, which gave me a strong foundation in classical art and design. Along the way, I also explored graphic design and packaging design, and eventually began creating surface pattern designs as well.

Watercolor is at the heart of my work, but I also enjoy working with pencil and ink. I've always been drawn to the natural world, birds, traditional ornament, vintage designs, and soft, thoughtful color combinations.

I love giving traditional influences a fresh feel while keeping a little of their original charm, whether through subtle textures, slightly faded colors, or tiny details you might not notice at first.

Living in Southern California, I find so much inspiration in the landscape around me. During my morning walks with my dog, I'm often stopping to take photos of old oak trees, wildflowers, or the way the light falls across the rolling hills.

I also love wandering through local farmers markets looking for beautiful flowers, and finding inspiration in old interiors, art, and books.

When it's time to paint, I tend to move around the house, looking for a cozy spot with just the right natural light. Some days it's the dining table, other days it's wherever the light happens to be best.

I create artwork for wallpaper, textiles, and other products, and one of my favorite things is seeing how something that began as a watercolor painting can become part of someone's home.

I'm so glad you're here!
